The role of the editor-in-chief
  • ​The editor-in-chief heads all the themes of the BLIS Journal and is accountable for moderating journal themes and working with theme editors and advisory board members to produce excellent outcomes. Typical responsibilities of the editor-in-chief include a working with theme editors and external advisors.
Working with Associate Editors (theme leads) to:
  • Cross-checking facts, spelling, grammar, writing style, page design and photos
  • Rejecting writing that appears to be plagiarized, ghost-written, published elsewhere, or of little interest to readers
  • Editing content
  • Contributing editorial pieces
  • Motivating and developing reviewers
  • Ensuring the final draft is complete and there are no omissions
  • Handling reader complaints and taking responsibility for issues after publication
  • Cross-checking citations and examining references
​Working with the external advisers to:
  • Create excellent Journal themes
  • Keeping the Journal up to date and relevant to changes in the various subject areas
  • Widening the reader audience
  • Building brand name

The role of Associate Editors (theme leads)
  • Associate editors will lead their theme for the BLIS Journal and they will be accountable for selecting and working with reviewers to produce excellent outcomes. 
  • Promotion of your Journal Theme
  • Gather or Recommend high quality papers
  • Recruiting reviewers
