About the Journal

The BLIS Journal is a peer-reviewed publication that concentrates on academic research in all subject areas in Business and Management. In 2018 it decided to widen its international audience through calls for special issues. The BLIS Journal builds its general contribution to knowledge sharing with three specific issues per year in Business and Management.

Focus and Scope
The focus of the BLIS Journal is Business and Management. A specific theme will be nominated for the 3 annual calls for papers; however the special editions may fit a more general focus for example attracting a selection of papers from a conference by the theme editor.
We publish papers up to 8,000 words long. If your paper is any longer, please query first.
We welcome pieces by new writers, early career researchers and experienced colleagues.

Invited Articles
An invited article might be a Key Business and management Thinkers submission, for example, or a submission that does not necessarily need to be fully referenced or have an abstract. It will normally be approximately 1,000 words.
Checked Open Submissions    -    Checked Indexed      -      Checked Peer Reviewed

Papers
The BLIS Journal regards a paper as a referenced academic submission.
Checked Open Submissions    -    Checked Indexed       -     Checked Peer Reviewed

Peer Review Process
Do you have an idea for a paper to disseminate your research or good practice? Have you presented on teaching, learning or assessment at a conference but have had nothing published from it? Would you like some supportive and constructive feedback on your academic writing? Would you like your colleagues to read about what you are doing without prejudicing future publishing copyright?
Your paper will be peer reviewed and constructive feedback will be offered. The Editorial Board is twenty members strong and we have representatives from all over the world.

Publication Frequency
We endeavour to publish in May and/or November, in digital format and online.
To submit a paper or article for consideration, you will need to register as a member or login (if you have already registered). Registering to be a Member only takes a few minutes and you will only need to do it once.

Paper selection and publication process
  • Upon receiving a paper submission - the theme-editor will send a confirmation email to the corresponding author normally within 7 days.
  • The peer review process - this is a double-blind system for peer-review; both reviewers and authors’ identities remain anonymous. The paper will be peer-reviewed by three experts: one reviewer is the editor or a member of the editorial board and the other two are selected specialist subject reviewers. The review process will normally take 14 days .
  • The review outcomes - results of the review will be sent to the corresponding author by the editor or a member of the editorial board.
  • Paper revision - the authors will then be asked to revise the paper according to feedback and in-line with Paper Submission Guidelines.
  • Paper publication - after publication, the paper will be available on the BLIS Journal website.
